Week 3 - Weekly News Post

 Weekly News Post

I didn't come across a lot of interesting news this week, but one major event that caught my attention was SpaceX's rocket launch on Thursday, April 20th, 2023.

1. SpaceX launched Rocket

Despite a setback earlier in the week, the launch was successful and it marked a historic moment as it was the largest rocket ever launched. However, there was a glitch during the flight and the rocket exploded after it failed to separate as planned. Nevertheless, it was still an impressive feat, and Elon Musk expressed his excitement about the successful test flight on Twitter. He also mentioned that the team will be working on improvements for the next test launch, which is scheduled for a few months from now. I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing what they'll achieve in the next launch.

2. Artists Worry About Survival as AI Changes the Game for Creative Work

This is another interview similar to the topic of AI replacing human jobs, but this article focuses on art. It mainly discusses the development of AI in art, such as Stable Diffusion, DALL·E 2, and Midjourney. One interview segment is about the conversation between the interviewer and Tomer Hanuke. Tomer mentioned that some people can use these tools to generate works that are similar to his style and sell them in his name without his involvement, which can still bring profit. The latter part also discusses the pros and cons of AI technology in the film industry. Ultimately, it extends to the question of whether AI will replace many of our jobs.
